I seriously don't understand the term "emo rock"

is it because the lead singers sing in a whiny voice so thus they sound emotional and thus is "emo rock"?

or is it because the lyrics make u want to cry/be angry/basically be emotional so thus is "emo rock"?

I do not get it! I mean isn't a songwriter supposed to experience some kind of emotional thingy in order to write a song??

what the hell is "emo rock"?!?!?!

cause somehow or rather..i think i'm a big big fan of "emo rock"..

since fall out boy, panic! at the disco and the all-american rejects have been termed "emo rockers"

what the hell is "emo rock"?!?!?!
